J. François Eid, MD has practiced in the field of urology since 1988. He was Clinical Associate Professor of Urology at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University and Director of the Center for Male Sexual Function, Department of Urology at New York Presbyterian Hospital until May, 2001. He is currently Director of Advanced Urological Care in the Department of Urology at NYPH and in private practice in New York City.
Dr. Eid was educated at Cornell University Medical College where he obtained his degree in medicine in 1982 and attended Brown University where he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Bio-Engineering in 1976. He is a founding member of the Sexual Function Council of the American Foundation of Urological Disease and is a member of eight medical societies that focus on sexual dysfunction and male fertility.
Dr. Eid's published work includes his first book in 1993 "Making Love Again: Regaining Sexual Potency Through the New Injection Treatment" (published by Brunner/Mazel, Inc., 1993) as well as over a dozen research articles published in urology journals. Dr. Eid's research includes participation in twelve pharmaceutical studies in the area of sexual dysfunction.
One of Dr. Eid's main areas of interest and expertise is the sexual rehabilitation of men after cancer treatment. He is the leader in the penile prosthesis procedure, serves on the Medical Advisory Board of several companies and performs more than 100 procedures per year. Internationally, Dr. Eid has lectured on, performed, and taught the penile prosthesis procedure in Australia, Austria, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Turkey, and Venezuela.
Public recognition includes listing in Woodward and White's Directory of Best Doctors in America, New York Magazine's "The Best Doctors in New York" (May 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000) and in Castle Connelly's Directory of "Best Doctors in America" (14th Edition).
